I seem to recall the flies being particularly annoying when I visited Australia too.

Doorman-Priest wouldn't love the black flies tho. We took a canoe trip thru the Fulton Chain of Lakes in the Adirondacks awhile back in the middle of black fly season. Miserable creatures they are! I certainly hope something worthwhile dines on them.
